The Nigerians in the Diaspora Organisation (NiDO) Worldwide has appointed Dr. Victor Ubani as its Coordinating Chairman, effective immediately, serving until December 2024.
NiDO announced on Monday that Ubani’s appointment follows the organization’s policy of rotating its leadership among its six continental chairs. Ubani, currently the Continental Chair of NiDO Americas, succeeds Mr. Titus Alagba from Africa.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Ubani expressed his gratitude for the appointment, viewing it as a call to higher service. He pledged to collaborate with NiDO members globally to harness Nigerian Diaspora’s human capital, economic, and technological resources for Nigeria’s development.
“It is NiDO Americas’ turn, which is how I received the position. I urge Nigerians in the Diaspora to work closely with me. We have immense potential in Nigeria, and despite challenges, remittances from the Diaspora can suffice,” Ubani stated. He called for cooperation among NiDO stakeholders to strengthen the organization and achieve meaningful progress over the next six months.
