Nigerians are converging in large numbers on the city of Fes, Morocco, ahead of Nigeria’s first knockout match against Mozambique in the Round of 16 at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The National Orientation Agency (NOA) is on ground in Morocco, providing institutional support to the Super Eagles and collaborating with the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) as Nigeria intensifies its campaign for the continental title.
On Tuesday in Fes, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Information and National Orientation, Senator Emeka Eze, and his House of Representatives counterpart, Hon. Olusola Fatoba, joined the Director-General of the NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, who is leading the Nigerian supporters’ mobilisation in support of the Super Eagles under the NOA–NFF partnership.
Under the partnership, the NOA is responsible for branding supporters and organised cheer groups at match venues, deploying campaign materials such as “7 for 7” T-shirts, mufflers, mini hand-held flags, caps and other publications to promote national unity and team spirit during Nigeria’s matches.
The NOA expressed optimism ahead of the encounter and wished the Super Eagles a successful outing as they seek to advance further in the tournament and ultimately lift the AFCON trophy.
