Obaseki rejects ‘Emilokon’ as election strategy in Edo

Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, asserted that the ‘Emilokan’ spirit is an ineffective approach to winning elections and governing the people of Edo. He shared these views during a visit by leaders from Edo South Senatorial District at the Government House, emphasizing the unfortunate nature of the situation between him and his deputy. Obaseki underscored that Edo’s populace would not embrace the ‘Emilokan’ strategy in governance, reiterating that the people’s voice holds paramount importance.

He expressed his disappointment over recent events, emphasizing that it’s not the right time to pursue personal ambitions when the election timeline hasn’t been set. He criticized the incongruence of advocating loyalty while engaging in legal battles against the same government one is part of. Obaseki stressed that ambition is valid, but it should be pursued ethically.
