The Theatre Commander (TC) Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Major General GU Chibuisi have on 24 August 2023 visited the National Youth Service Corps Temporary Orientation Camp Borno State situated at Mustapha Umar El-Kanemi Arabic College, Maiduguri, Borno State.
Upon arrival, the TC was warmly welcomed by Comrade Mohammed Adamu Jiya, the State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, and Major H Abdullahi, the Camp Commandant. Subsequently, Brigadier General TM Opurum, the Commander of the 7 Division Garrison, provided Major General Chibuisi with a comprehensive briefing on the camp’s security arrangements.
Following the briefing, Major General Chibuisi conducted an assessment and issued directives aimed at enhancing the camp’s security measures to ensure a smooth and trouble-free orientation training. Additionally, he took the opportunity to engage with Batch B Stream 2 Corps Members who had been posted to Borno State.
In his address, the TC emphasized the importance of demonstrating discipline, patriotism, and respect for authority among the Corps Members. He assured them of sufficient security measures and the necessary support to ensure a safe and enjoyable service year in Borno State. He encouraged the Corps Members to approach their service with a relaxed mindset.
Overall, Major General GU Chibuisi’s visit aimed to strengthen the camp’s security protocols while providing guidance and motivation to the Corps Members as they began their service journey in Borno State.
