In a major success for the Nigerian Army’s counter-terrorism efforts, notorious terrorist commander Lawal Kwalba surrendered to troops on Thursday, May 28, 2024.
This significant development follows intensified military operations targeting terrorist strongholds in Kaduna State.
Kwalba’s surrender, along with his fighters, was prompted by the relentless pressure from the troops’ operational activities. This event marks a crucial step forward in the fight against terrorism in Kaduna and the surrounding regions.
During the surrender, troops recovered two AK-47 rifles, a motorbike, and two magazines loaded with 7.62 mm Special ammunition from Kwalba. The commander is now undergoing thorough profiling at a military facility, a process expected to yield valuable intelligence for dismantling remaining terrorist networks.
