German resource room opens at University of Ibadan

The University of Ibadan has inaugurated a new German Resource Room aimed at strengthening the teaching and learning of German language and culture.

The facility was officially opened by the German Vice Consul, Jochen Schindelarz, in the presence of senior representatives of University of Ibadan.

The project represents an investment of more than N6 million and is designed to enhance the academic capacity of the Department of German Studies. The initiative was implemented under the academic guidance of German lecturer, Charlotte Meyn.

The newly equipped resource centre will provide students with improved access to learning materials, modern teaching resources and a more conducive academic environment for the study of the German language and culture.

Speaking at the inauguration, stakeholders expressed optimism that the facility would significantly enrich language instruction, support academic research and promote greater intercultural engagement between Nigeria and Germany.

The resource room is expected to benefit both current and future students, helping to deepen linguistic proficiency while fostering stronger educational and cultural exchanges.
