The Inspector-General of Police, Dr. Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, played host to Mr. Graeme Biggar, the Director General of the National Crime Agency, at the Force Headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday, May 8, 2024.
In a statement, Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said the meeting, which convened key stakeholders including members of the Force Management Team, National Vice President of Interpol, Garba Baba Umar, and the Head of NPF-NCCC, CP Henry Uche, centered on fostering a robust partnership for training and development initiatives.

During the deliberations, the IGP underscored the existing collaborative efforts between the Nigerian Police Force and the UK National Crime Agency, particularly in terms of training support aimed at combating various forms of criminality. The discussions also encompassed strategies for enhancing the effectiveness of law enforcement operations, particularly in addressing challenges such as kidnapping and cybercrime prevalent across the nation.
In response, Mr. Biggar conveyed the UK Government’s unwavering commitment to supporting the Nigerian Police Force across various domains, including the provision of advanced training programs designed to bolster the capacity and efficiency of officers in tackling crime nationwide.
Emphasizing his administration’s dedication to fostering fruitful collaborations with relevant agencies, the IGP reiterated the importance of continuous training and re-training for officers as pivotal components in the fight against crime in Nigeria.
