The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), in collaboration with ground forces under Operation Hadin Kai, has neutralised more than 30 terrorists in a decisive joint operation at Dar Jamel, Bama Local Government Area of Borno State. The coordinated mission was conducted on 5 September 2025, following reports of intense terrorist engagement with friendly forces in the area.
Acting swiftly on intelligence, the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai deployed both Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) assets and air interdiction platforms. While en route, the aircrew established contact with ground troops stationed in Banki, who confirmed that reinforcements were already moving to support embattled soldiers in Dar Jamel.
On arrival, aircrews visually identified friendly forces before ISR scans revealed insurgents fleeing northwards into nearby bushes. In three successive precision strikes, the terrorists were decisively engaged, resulting in the neutralisation of over 30 fighters. Moments later, reinforcement troops reached the location, secured the battlefield and stabilised the situation.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, said the success of the mission underscores the seamless coordination between air and ground forces in counterterrorism operations. He stressed that the Armed Forces remain resolute in dismantling terrorist networks, safeguarding vulnerable communities, and restoring peace across the North East.
The operation also highlights the effectiveness of sustained joint efforts among Nigeria’s security agencies, with the NAF reiterating its commitment to continued collaboration with sister services in ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.
